Welcome to the Florence Electricity Department. In addition to providing the most reliable, economical and best electrical service to the people of Lauderdale County, our Department is committed to being customer friendly and dedicated to quick response. Because our service area is greater than 750 square miles, we’re accustomed to handling the needs of our customers, and have even expanded our offerings to include:

• Financing heat pumps through TVA’s Residential Energy Efficiency Program.
   
• Providing safety and energy programs to schools and civic groups at no charge.
   
• Taking part in TVA’s Comprehensive Services Program to help commercial and industrial customers use power more efficiently.
   
• Renting and installing temporary loops for residential construction
   
• Providing security lights at a nominal charge.
   
• Making available a 24-hour dispatching service to address power failures and service problems.

Our Department purchases power from the Tennessee Valley Authority through four primary substations and distributes it through 44 distribution substations and over 2,507 miles of overhead line.
