Florence Cypress Creek and Wilson Lake Water Plants

Florence Water received recognition letters from EPA this week for both water treatment plants, Wilson Lake and Cypress Creek.  The receipt of these letters are a testament to the commitment our treatment plant operators have to providing the best quality water possible to our consumers.

Florence Cypress Creek Water Plant

An award for continued excellence in operation that maximizes public health protection by achieving the optimization goals for sedimentation and filtration as established by the EPA Region IV and ADEM Drink Water Branch Water Treatment Plant Optimization Programs for six consecutive years, 2004 - 2009.
 

Florence Wilson Lake Water Plant

An award for continued excellence in operation that maximizes public health protection by achieving the optimization goals for sedimentation and filtration as established by the EPA Region IV and ADEM Drink Water Branch Water Treatment Plant Optimization Programs for four consecutive years, 2006 - 2009.
 

Cypress Creek and Wilson Lake Water Plants

Received a Water Fluoridation Quality Award from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) commending the City of Florence Water system for its consistent and professional adjustment of the water fluoride content to the optimum level for oral health for 12 consistent months in 2009.

Consistent, high-quality water fluoridation practice, as demonstrated by the Florence Water system, is a safe and effective method to prevent tooth decay, improving the oral health of community residents of all ages.
